Oxford University Development - Special Events and Alumni Relations Coordinator

Position Summary: The Special Events & Alumni Relations Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Special Events & Alumni Relations. This position primarily provides support in planning and executing events, as well as strategic support to a growing alumni relations program in North America.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily administrative tasks (i.e., sustain confidential files and database; answer phones and respond to e-mail, directing or handling inquiries as needed)
  • Support in planning and executing special events, including onsite assistance
  • Prepare and send invitations and mailings to alumni
  • Keep online calendar updated with alumni events throughout North America
  • Maintain database with all alumni branch activities in North America
  • Assistance with the development and evaluation of alumni branch programs throughout North America

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, volunteers and vendors
  • Comfortable interacting with alumni, board members and potential benefactors
  • Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and to be efficient under tight timelines
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Publisher, Contribute)

The University of Oxford’s North American Office was established in New York in 1989. Through its on-going programs in fundraising and alumni relations, the North American Office continues to support the University and its Colleges to fulfill their historic mission to provide excellence in research, scholarship and teaching to the global community.

Details: This position is located in the University of Oxford’s North American Office in Midtown Manhattan. This is a full-time position with occasional evening and weekend hours to assist with special events. Applications will be considered as they are received, until the position has been filled.

Salary range is $35,000 - $40,000 depending on experience.
