PETA Foundation - Fundraising Events Department Coordinator
Position Objective:
To coordinate PETA's fundraising events
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
In consultation and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by PETA: - Organize and attend cultivation, retention, and solicitation events at PETA's request for PETA members and supporters
- Keep events on schedule using the event timeline and track tasks to ensure that deadlines are met
- Oversee the production of event materials, mailings, and additional event components for presentation to and approval for use by PETA
- Establish and maintain good communication and relationships with PETA donors and individuals at all levels of PETA and the PETA Foundation
- Negotiate with event vendors to ensure the best possible value
- Manage event RSVPs using PETA's donor database and other tracking documents
- Manage event inventory and the shipping, receiving, and storage of event supplies
- Recruit and manage volunteers at PETA events
- Field phone calls and e-mails from PETA donors and answer questions related to events and donations
- Collect and maintain event data, including costs, revenue, and PETA donor information
- Provide additional support for events and assist the department manager and director as needed
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years of event-coordinating or related experience
- Proven ability to maintain professional working relationships
- Proven leadership skills
- Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
- Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
