Director of Development

ShelterBox USA, the US affiliate of an international disaster relief organization, seeks a Director of Development for the Eastern United States. The Director of Development is responsible for the management and implementation of various fundraising activities and initiatives. This position reports to the President, is part of a small national development team and is responsible for identifying and cultivating individual, corporate and foundation donors primarily in the Northeastern United States.

This position demands maturity and experience to cultivate the support of sophisticated donors and motivate volunteers engaged in donor stewardship. This position will require high level organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, effectively work with other staff members and volunteers, and converse easily in person or by telephone with donors and other stakeholders.

This is a contracted position. The ideal candidate will live in close proximity to major metropolitan areas of the Northeastern United States.
