The Director of Development is responsible for all fundraising activities for the Children's Hospital. In carrying out these responsibilities, the Director of Development will develop and maintain a portfolio of principal and major gift prospects, create and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, and manage a department of four employees.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience executing successful fundraising strategies and raising major gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations. He/she will have a broad background and in-depth knowledge of fundraising, including major, annual, capital and planned giving fundraising, ideally in a healthcare setting or similar program with multiple stakeholders. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships of trust and respect with faculty, volunteers and donors are critical for this position. The ability to supervise and motivate staff members and volunteers is required. A Bachelor's degree is required from an accredited institution; a Master's degree is preferred.
