POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Development Associate will play an important support role in the coordination and management of one of the key Institutional Advancement revenue streams.
REPORTS TO:
Vice President, Individual Giving
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the VP for Individual Giving and other members of the team in the stewardship and cultivation of donors, including research, preparation of materials for meetings, drafting correspondence, and facilitating accurate and effective communications with funders and prospects
- Integrate oneself as a core member of the Institutional Advancement team by liaising with colleagues from across the organization to advance the mission of the organization
- Oversee correspondence and acknowledgement process
- Create and shepherd material for donor meetings
- Track incoming contributions and support maintenance of donor records in ANDAR
- Staff all flagship events and other donor engagement activities
- Work closely with Research team to generate prospect research as requested
- Proofread proposals and related materials and assist with the administration process
- Other administrative tasks as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required with two years of work experience; experience in a development office preferred
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Must have strong PC skills and be proficient in Word, Excel, database management and fundraising research
- Ability to manage multiple demands; results oriented and works quickly and accurately
- Experience in working with Boards and volunteers; extremely tactful and diplomatic in dealing with confidential concerns
- Works well with people and engenders trust and confidence from fellow staff and volunteers
- Passionate for community service
