Pro Bono Partnership - Paralegal
Pro Bono Partnership seeks a talented full-time paralegal to work in its White Plains, New York office. Pro Bono Partnership provides free business and transactional legal services to nonprofit organizations in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. The paralegal will work under the supervision of Pro Bono Partnership staff attorneys to provide support to Partnership staff attorneys and volunteer lawyers. The Partnership assists nonprofits with a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, corporate, employment, privacy, real estate, and tax. This is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated, collaborative team delivering valuable services to the nonprofit sector.
Duties include:

Preparing and filing legal documents and correspondence;

Conducting initial reviews of contracts, corporate and employment-related legal documents;

Conducting statutory, regulatory and factual research;
-
Organizing and maintaining client files, both electronic and paper;

Assisting with the preparation and distribution of model documents and educational materials on legal topics relevant to the nonprofit sector;

Assisting with planning and logistics for pro bono events and legal workshops; and
-
Occasional administrative duties, such as responding to routine telephone inquiries and scanning/photocopying.
A successful candidate will have:
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; prior experience with Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases strongly preferred;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a careful attention to detail;

Excellent organizational and time management skills;
-
The ability to prioritize competing obligations and meet deadlines; and
-
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications:
-
A bachelor's degree or completion of an ABA accredited paralegal studies program preferred. Will consider equivalent education or experience as an experienced administrative assistant in a corporate legal department or law firm.

Previous paralegal experience in a corporate legal department or law firm preferred.

Experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus but not required.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range is high $30s to low $40s commensurate with experience and duties. Benefits include medical, dental, vacation and sick time and 403b plan.
