New York Studio School - Development Associate
The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting & Sculpture seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Development Associate with exceptional organizational and communication skills. Reporting to the Director of Resource Development, the successful candidate will assist in all fundraising activities of this unique institution. This position is full-time, 5-days per week with occasional evening events.
Responsibilities:

Working with Director of Resource Development, prepare grant proposals for individual, foundation, government and corporate support

Draft letters of inquiry, applications, solicitation materials, gift acknowledgements and donor correspondence; write progress and/or final reports as required.

Manage development calendar, track deadlines including proposal and report deadlines, direct mail campaigns and special events.

Maintain database (Raiser’s Edge) with accurate, up-to-date records; track all gifts and responses.

Assist in planning/coordination of fundraising events, including annual benefit and auction.

Assist in executing annual appeals and major gifts campaigns; develop outreach e-newsletters.

Help coordinate Trustees meetings, draft meeting minutes.

Oversee work study students and volunteers for Development office and special events, as needed; participate in alumni relations.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two years development experience required.

Superior writing and research skills; successful grant-writing experience essential.

Strong communication skills with a high level of integrity and poise.

Excellent time and project management skills with attention to detail.

Special events planning and coordination experience; solid administrative skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and Raiser’s Edge or similar donor database required.

Adobe Photoshop and InDesign added plus.

Highly organized, self-motivated and enthusiastic.

Facility with online technology and web-based platforms.
Salary and Benefits: $35,000 - $40,000; Comprehensive benefit package, including health insurance, transportation benefits and paid time off (vacation, sick, and personal days, holidays).
