Work with Harris School leadership to achieve short- and long-term objectives, which impact Chicago Harris alumni and volunteer leadership programs. Develop a long-term plan to provide peerless service to alumni worldwide. Develop lifelong relationships in a manner consistent with sound business practices and overarching School and University development goals. Plan, organize and manage events, programs and services designed to cultivate and maintain ties between Chicago Harris and its alumni, including a focus on developing internships and mentoring opportunities among Chicago Harris alumni for current Chicago Harris students.
Plan, organize and manage the Harris School Annual Giving program including direct mail, telephone, email and social media campaigns. Manage and develop performance standards, lead the office in strategic planning, data management, creation and tracking of metrics. Maintain a portfolio of 25-50 potential major gift prospects. Manage cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for the assigned portfolio of donors.
Work with the Alumni Advisory Council to create and implement a comprehensive schedule of programs and events. Build strong working relationships with staff in University Alumni Relations and Development and with other departments at the School. Manage programs designed to revive, cultivate, maintain and strengthen alumni ties to the School. Create and implement new alumni relations programs worldwide. Set activity goals for the team. Develop strong volunteer organizations and assist them in generating alumni programs. Collaborate with colleagues School-wide to build participation in support of Chicago Harris.
Collaborate with colleagues across the School and campus to create, produce and market educational programs and career networking opportunities to engage increasing numbers of Chicago Harris alumni. Ensure educational programs, career-networking options and shared interest groups are implemented. Provide guidance and support to other areas of the School as it relates to alumni programs. Recruit faculty and alumni to serve as speakers for programs globally. Plan program educational content with staff, faculty and alumni. Collaborate with colleagues across the School to develop the annual schedule.
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher required.
Experience
- Minimum four years of professional work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations or similar work required.
- Minimum two years of management experience, including staff, required.
- Minimum of one year of experience developing and monitoring budgets required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in managing senior leadership, Trustees or board members required.
