Director of Institutional Giving

Roundabout Theatre Company in New York City is seeking an individual for the Director of Institutional Giving position with the following responsibilities -

• Raise more that $3.5 million annually from corporations, foundations, and government sources. Develop strategies to renew and grow institutional support. Establish revenue and expense goals with Director of Development.
• Write proposals, including general operating support, education, new play, archives, etc. Write interim and final reports. Work with Business Office on budgets and financial information needed to accompany proposals and reports.
• Develop and maintain relationships with corporate, foundation and government funders; oversee cultivation and fulfillment activities.
• Identify prospects. Work with Program Directors, Leadership Council, and Board of Directors to enlist their help in identifying, cultivating and soliciting contacts at foundations and corporations.
• Solicit and secure annual corporate sponsors; package and present sponsorship opportunities to prospective and renewing corporate funders, together with the Director of Development.
• Work closely with other departments to gain a thorough knowledge of programs and services; communicate that information to funders through proposals, reports, meeting and site visits.
• Develop strategies and visual materials for major presentations.
• Participate in capital campaign, including writing of foundation/corporate proposals, prospect research, and stewardship of campaign gifts.
• Work with Special Events team to plan events for institutional funders.

• Conceptualize, write, edit and oversee production of fundraising materials such as annual education report, and corporate brochures.
• Manage a staff of two (2), including mid-level and entry-level personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A) EDUCATION – College required; Advanced or Continued Education a plus

B) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – Minimum 5 years in comparable positions. Must be comfortable and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Tessitura or comparable fundraising database. Must be experienced in staff management as well as one-on-one fundraising solicitations.

C) LANGUAGE, SKILLS REQUIRED – English
