Asia Society - Stewardship and Development Operations Manager

Asia Society, a leading global, educational and cultural non-profit is seeking a Stewardship and Development Operations Manager. The successful candidate will work closely with External Affairs Directors and key development staff to determine the best strategies for effective stewardship of donors. They will also implement and coordinate a comprehensive Stewardship program. This will be accomplished through collaborative and creative activities while effectively engaging and stewarding existing and potential major donors. In partnership with development staff, the Stewardship and Development Operations Manager will facilitate cultivation efforts and execution of fundraising strategies through donor relationship management and financial reporting.

The position involves supporting leading philanthropists and their staff in the execution and fulfillment of their pledges, participating budget monitoring and financial reporting. This experience would prove invaluable for someone eager to advance their career in fundraising and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Write comprehensive narratives and financial summary reports on the activities and impact achieved from endowment gifts and major support for exhibitions, programs, and initiatives.
  • Implement targeted and thoughtful stewardship acts throughout the year to keep donors engaged and connected to the Society.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal and external parties to fulfill the terms and conditions of gifts in accordance with the donor’s intentions. Ensure donors are properly credited and recognized on all applicable materials, including but not limited to invitations, brochures, signage, etc.
  • Utilize Raiser’s Edge database system to manage donor information, acknowledge and track major gift commitments, and generate financial reports, lists and queries. Present data to senior leadership in a useful and analytical way to drive fundraising strategies.
  • Manage pledges and gifts through timely reporting and follow up through personalized correspondence, including tax acknowledgment letters, thank you notes, pledge forms and reminder notices.
  • Monitor department budget, expenses, and operating plans; engage directly with EA development teams to assess progress to date, identify areas of opportunity, and facilitate success.
  • Other fundraising tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4-5 years previous development and fundraising experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to effectively work within a team, as well as independently.
  • Database management experience, Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office/Word/Excel
