The Senior Major Gifts Officer is a proven front line fundraising professional responsible for managing a portfolio of donors and prospects with the capacity to give Major Gifts (6, 7 and 8 figures) for restricted purposes. H/she will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects for priority fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities include:

Direct and manage a proactive prospect portfolio aimed at significantly increasing Major Gift support;

Identify, research, cultivate and solicit prospects in and ourside the current donor pool and secure major gifts from these prospects;

Work with trustees and leadership to cultivate major donors in addition to soliciting gifts personally.
To qualify, candidates must have a demonstrated track record of successfully closing major gifts ($250,000+) from individuals. Candidates must have 5 years of experience raising major gifts within the New York philanthropic community. In addition, candidates must have excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills, the ability to take initiative and work effectively in a team environment.
