Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley - Development Officer
Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley is seeking an experienced, creative and results-oriented development professional who can make a significant contribution to help the organization reach a new level of fundraising. The Development Officer is responsible for the full range of activities that support the major gifts program, including cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgment, recognition and stewardship of major donors and prospects. Working with the President/CEO, VP External Affairs and the development team, the Development Officer will build relationships with donors, plan and participate in donor meetings, develop and oversee special events, and supervise the planned giving program. This position will work closely with the Board of Directors and volunteers to expand fundraising activities.
We seek an individual who has a passion for Planned Parenthood's mission and enthusiasm for the challenges of raising money. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing effective major donor relations strategies, and meeting and exceeding fundraising goals. The successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver who possesses a strong work-ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have experience in conducting prospect research, and must be adept at distilling complex information and writing compelling letters, proposals and collateral material. This position requires the ability to work to deadlines, and strong organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills. The job will require some evening and weekend work.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree and five to seven years experience in non-profit fundraising required.
- Significant prior work experience in major gifts fundraising with demonstrated success in donor cultivation and gift solicitation
- Proficiency in Raiser's Edge strongly preferred
