Rockport Music - Executive Director
Rockport Music, presenter of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, seeks an experienced, and talented arts management professional with an established record of success to lead the expansion of this nationally-recognized music organization.
Rockport Music and the Rockport Chamber Music Festival:
Rockport Music is the presenter of the Rockport Music Chamber Festival, now anticipating its 29th season as one of the most distinguished chamber music festivals in the United States. Under the artistic leadership of renowned concert pianist David Deveau since 1995, the Festival presents concerts featuring established performers of international stature as well as emerging young talent, and commissions by many of today’s leading composers. In addition to the summer Festival series, Rockport Music offers year-round presentations of classical, jazz, folk, and musical genres and a lively educational outreach program for over 3,000 public school students.
In June 2010, Rockport Music is scheduled to open the doors of its permanent home, the Shalin Liu Performance Center, a $20 million state-of-the-art oceanfront concert hall now under construction on Main Street in Rockport. The new performance center will allow for expansion of Rockport Music’s summer chamber music festival, and for lectures, free programs, and non-classical musical offerings. The new center will also be a year-round venue for a variety of other cultural, civic, and educational events.
Rockport Music looks forward to significant growth in audience, staff, and budget over the next 5 to 10 years. A current annual budget of $600K is scheduled to grow to $1.7 million in 2013. Current annual contributed income of $300K is scheduled to grow to $900K during the same period.
