New York City College of Technology - Project Coordinator/Partner Liaison

General Description:

New York City College of Technology (City Tech) is seeking a Project Coordinator/Partner Liaison for a four-year NSF I-Cubed project, The City Tech I3 Incubator: Interdisciplinary Partnerships for Laboratory Integration. The project will weave together the activities of several current NSF-funded science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) projects to improve grant and pedagogy synergies at City Tech. The position has a dual focus:

1) Logistical coordination of a complex array of curriculum development, faculty development, and assessment activities across multiple projects in the context of interdisciplinary laboratory activities; and 2)Cultivation of greater participation of industry partners representing local and regional workforce and technology needs.The position will be a clear indicator to industry partners that City Tech is seriously committed to the proposition of an ongoing consultative role in curriculum and workforce development.

The Project Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Provost in consultation with the Deans of the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Technology and Design and lead faculty.

Other Duties:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for all internal and external constituencies involved in the I-Cubed project;
  • Provide organizational support to create and sustain internal and external partnerships;
  • Coordinate collaborative activities among individual faculty members, departments, schools, and industry partners;
  • Collaborate with Director of Assessment and the external project evaluator to facilitate data gathering and analysis;
  • Coordinate the development of communications materials primarily as web-based materials and tools, both for internal projects and partner outreach.
  • Communicate project activities and outcomes, both in person and online, to multiple constituencies including City Tech faculty and administration, the external advisory board, and the wider CUNY community;
  • Create reporting templates and maintain cumulative reports on all grant activities; and
  • Disseminate project innovations within the college and the STEM higher education community.

Salary: $56,000-$64,000

Core Competencies/Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with and convey complex concepts and processes to multiple audiences.
  • Experience in project/program management, knowledge of STEM issues in higher education, experience in cultivating institutional relationships with industry and knowledge of workforce development issues in STEM fields;
  • A Master's Degree in a STEM discipline is required; a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline is desirable.
