General Summary:
Based in Chicago, develop and conduct activity with an assigned portfolio of 200-350 current and prospective donors with the goals of 1) soliciting individuals for annual gifts of $2,500 and up to support all areas of the University, including the College, Graduate Divisions, Professional Schools and Units; 2) conducting qualifying visits and conversations to determine individual capacity to support the University in the short- and long-term and 3) meet specific goals in dollars raised, visits, participation, etc. Travel frequently within the Chicago area and other assigned regions. Work effectively with internal and external partners to achieve fundraising and engagement goals. Recruit and support Chicago Society volunteers from University alumni and other constituencies as part of a highly structured volunteer program. Collaborate with colleagues to extend the impact of all alumni relations and development programming in the region.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher required; a minimum of two years in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations or similar work experience required; experience soliciting and closing gifts preferred; previous experience in a university setting or a similarly complex institution preferred; outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, characterized by the ability to listen, to speak, and to write well with a strong commitment to customer service required; willingness and ability to travel frequently to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business required; willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends required; valid driver's license required.
