The After-School Corporation (TASC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving all kids opportunities to grow through after-school and summer programs that support, educate and inspire them. TASC's vision is that kids from all backgrounds will have access to the range of high quality activities beyond the school day that every family wants for their children: experiences that support their intellectual, creative and healthy development and help them to be their best, in and out of school.
The Research Department, which is part of TASC's Center for After-School Excellence seeks a Program Assistant to support its external evaluation initiatives. Reporting to the Program Director for Evaluation Services, the new staff member is responsible for:
Responsibilities:
- Data entry and maintenance of evaluation database, including:
- Data collection and processing (includes coding interviews and cleaning survey data) oDesigning and generating reports as needed
- Coordinating data collection efforts with after-school program staff as part of Center's evaluation of 21st Century Community Learning Centers and GEAR UP programs
- Assisting with evaluation services contracts
- Formatting evaluation reports
- Maintaining data collection calendar and tracking system
- Maintaining research department electronic and paper files
- Assisting with meetings, trainings, and special events as needed
- Performing other work as assigned
Qualifications:
- Prospective candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree, plus at least one year of previous office experience
- Previous experience with nonprofit or research organization helpful
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, and oral skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work on a number of unrelated projects
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access; knowledge of SPSS a plus
- Subject matter experience and/or knowledge in the fields of youth development, education, and/or program evaluation methods a plus
