Bronx Children's Museum - Founding Executive Director
The Bronx Children's Museum (BCM) is a not-for-profit institution conceived in 2005 and incorporated in 2008, with the mission of enhancing the educational, social and cognitive development of children throughout the borough. The Museum seeks to inspire children and parents to learn about themselves and the diversity and richness of their surroundings, as well as the world beyond, through interactive programs that promote literacy, arts, and science. We have been developing pilot programs with the goal of honing our mission and learning more about the needs and interests of our audience.
BCM aims to attract and engage all segments of the Bronx community. A special emphasis will be placed on outreach to parents and caregivers of pre-school and school age children who do not typically have access to or take advantage of museums and other cultural institutions. The BCM will be a welcoming place where children and adults alike will be able to explore the familiar and the unusual and find inspiration to continue learning beyond their visit.
