Brooklyn Academy of Music - Program Coordinator
Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), an internationally recognized presenter of contemporary performing arts and cinema, seeks a full-time Program Coordinator to aid the Director and staff with ongoing educational and humanities program initiatives. In addition, the program coordinator will manage specific programs such as Dancing into the Future, serve as film registrar for the BAMkids Film Festival, write and edit program materials, and maintain departmental archives. The Program Coordinator will report to the Director of the Department of Education and Humanities.
Responsibilities:
- Produce, edit, route, and oversee printing of program materials related to Education and Humanities presentations
- Manage all facets of facilitating the Dancing into the Future after school choreography program for high school students (including recruiting students, overseeing curriculum development and implementation with Lead Instructor, budgeting, facilitating culminating event)
- Serve as registrar for the BAMkids Film Festival (monitor the tracking, shipment, and organization of approximately 50 films for the weekend festival)
- Assist in the management of selected projects and programs such as school partnerships, master classes, artist residency programs, and departmental special events
- Coordinate artist services for guest speakers/performers such as travel and accommodations
- Schedule photographers for department programs and events
- Maintain the department archives for all departmental publications, marketing materials, and photographs
- Maintain office supply inventory
- Provide administrative support in the facilitation and execution of Department programs and special events as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- At least 2 years of office/administrative and/or teaching experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong administrative, organizational and communication skills
- Excellent writing and editing abilities
- Knowledge of dance preferred
- Interest in arts education
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience/knowledge of curriculum development preferred
Compensation:
The salary for this position is in the mid-$30Ks per year, commensurate with experience (plus a full benefit package.)
