Associate Director of Development, Paul Taylor Dance Foundation
The Paul Taylor Dance Foundation's mission is to celebrate and share Mr. Taylor's dances and distinct artistic style with audiences, ensure that Mr. Taylor has the financial resources to create two new works each year, and to document and preserve Mr. Taylor's repertory for future generations. The Taylor Foundation reaches more than 130,000 people worldwide each year through performances and education programming. Mr. Taylor's choreography is renowned for its athleticism, cultural commentary, intricate musicality, and unrivaled artistry.
The Associate Director of Development is responsible for managing the Taylor Foundation's individual giving program, coordinating special events, maintaining the institutional giving schedule of proposals and reports, and supervising donor research. Responsibilities include:
- Serve as point person for individual donor inquires
- Manage individual donor correspondence and appeals, tracking, and analyzing results
- Coordinate special events with all event vendors and manage invitation and follow-up process with all guests
- Conduct and track research on prospective individual and institutional donors
- Help research, write, and edit proposals, reports, presentations, and other materials for institutional funders
Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2-3 years demonstrated experience in fundraising and event management
- Proven ability to organize, expedite, and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, working within and across diverse groups and teams
- Extraordinary attention to detail and analytical abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research skills and knowledge of fundraising information sources
- Flexibility, resourcefulness, and a sense of humor
- Interest in the arts, especially dance, and a strong grasp of key stakeholders and issues in the nonprofit arts field preferred
- Excellent computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required; experience with fundraising databases helpful
Salary and Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. Full benefit package includes medical and dental insurance, vacation, and 403(b).
