JSSA’s Community Outreach team has an immediate opening for a full-time Director, Volunteer Engagement to join our growing team. Our Community Outreach team connects volunteers with meaningful activities and projects that make a lasting difference in people’s lives. Our volunteer opportunities currently include connecting with seniors in their homes and in the community, employment and career support, hospice and transitions, resettlement, seasonal projects and office support. With the goal of establishing an exemplary volunteer program, the Director, Volunteer Engagement is responsible for growing existing programs and developing innovative approaches to engaging new segments of the community with JSSA’s mission. The candidate will develop strong relationships within the community to foster a positive image such that a wide array of organizations and volunteers will make JSSA their volunteer organization of choice.
Qualified candidates possess a passion for community-focused work and have a minimum of 5 years of experience post bachelor’s degree in implementing volunteer programs rooted in a “Service Learning” methodology. Successful candidates have demonstrated leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and organizational skills as well as prior experience managing programs and supervising others. S/he is committed to working in a fast-paced team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
