Chief Financial Officer, Girl Scouts of Utah

Accountabilities:

  • Correctly measure, thoroughly analyze, and clearly communicate the council's financial management, assets, and practices.
  • Assist the council in sound financial decisions, procedures, and practices.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement internal financial controls and policies to ensure that the council's assets are protected.
  • Manage the annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring financial systems and procedures comply with council's financial and legal policies, practices, and regulations.
  • Oversees preparation of financial statements, cash flow projection, forecasts and other financial reports.
  • Oversee financial and operational audits, identify opportunities for improved efficiencies, and supervise the implementation of improvements to internal controls and/or operating procedures.
  • Manages negotiations for financially and/or strategically significant contracts and leases.
  • Manage relationships with leading institutions in the financial community.
  • Prepares cost analyses throughout entire council operations as a basis for strategic planning, money saving opportunities, and income growth.
  • Oversees the audit and finance committee to ensure that the board of directors effectively executes its fiscal responsibility. Engage the board's audit and finance committee around issues, trends, and changes relevant to the overall financial landscape.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated management responsibility for multiple operational and financial functions.
  • Must be a forward-thinking, strategic visionary with proven analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; minimum 5 years' experience. MBA a plus; CPA certification preferred.
  • Demonstration of a commitment to quality through the following attributes: management of multiple priorities, detail-oriented with strong organization skills; sound decision-making and problem-solving ability; and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic, unquestionable reputation for honesty and integrity.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft office, databases, e-mail, internet applications, internet research, and financial software applications.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly rate to be determined with partial benefits.
