Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Associate

United Way of New York City is looking for an Associate to work on the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). This position will play a key role in the coordination and management of the Combined Federal Campaign in the Public Sector team, Institutional Advancement Department. The CFC Combined Federal Campaign Associate is a United Way of New York City (UWNYC) employee, assigned to support UWNYC in its fiscal agent role (PCFO), and when appropriate, work toward advancing the goals of UWNYC.

Reporting to: Director, Combined Federal Campaign

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Assist and support the planning, implementation of strategies and accurate tracking of campaign results and other duties for a successful partnership.
• Assist the Senior Director, Public Sector; and CFC Director in the stewardship and cultivation of members of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC), loaned executives, key workers, and federal donors, including research and preparation of materials for meetings, drafting letters and materials for use, and facilitating accurate and effective communications.
• Work closely with the internal Finance Department team for proper processing of pledge forms; ensuring that all envelopes are secured and information recorded correctly and that all receipts are available. Follow up and establish tracking system in case of discrepancies. Serve as the point person between Finance and Loaned Executives for proper collection and processing of pledge forms.
• Manage inquiries from donors and other individuals.
• Oversee correspondence and administrative processes for the Public Sector/CFC; work with CFC Director to ensure that all deadlines are met per OPM regulations.
• Take notes and prepare minutes for the meetings of the LFCC in a timely manner.
• Assist in the creation of materials, invitations to events and prepare materials for meetings of LFCC.
• Support maintenance of accurate donor and agency records in ANDAR and in other places.
• Responsible for proper storage and filing of applications and other documents needed for audits and as required by regulations.
• Receptionist duty coverage as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree; and a minimum of 5 years experience in fundraising activities preferred.
• Prior public sector experience preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn the rules and regulations for the Combined Federal Campaign.
• Must have strong PC skills and be very proficient in Word, Excel, database management and fundraising research. Experience with ANDAR a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple demands; results oriented and works quickly and accurately.
• Experience in working with Boards and volunteers; extremely tactful and diplomatic in dealing with confidential concerns.
• Work well with people and engender trust and confidence from fellow staff and volunteers and members of the federal community.
• Ability to think outside the box and contribute substantially to the Combined Federal Campaign, the Public Sector team and the overall mission of United Way of New York City.
