Vice President of Development, Single Stop USA
Single Stop USA is looking for an experienced professional to serve as the Vice President of Development. The Vice President will be responsible for the implementation of SSUSA’s fundraising strategy to reach the capital campaign fund raising goals. He / She will be expected to directly manage staff responsible for researching and obtaining grants from foundations, corporations, individuals and government sources. The Vice President of Development will report directly to the CEO and COO & General Counsel.
The candidate must be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a supportive and direct manor. He / She will also have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, hands on management style, and the ability to address and solve problems as they occur. In addition, he/she will be diplomatic, of the highest integrity, and possess sound judgment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete development work to secure matching funds for the White House Social Innovation Award. This work will include developing a case statement and pitch materials, and helping broker meetings for Single Stop with potential prospects. Regions of interest include New York City, Miami, Boston, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Detroit/Flint.

Assist in the development of a system for regional fundraising in regions outlined above, including processes and prospects for local advisory board committees and system for managing them.

Develop marketing materials focused on communications with donors and potential donors.

Work with the development team on all development and communications projects.

Work with the Director of Development in developing and managing relationships with high-engagement partners and donors.

Write and review proposals and reports to major donors, including government grants, foundations, corporations and individuals.

Manage an annual grant plan based on priorities with specified targets, timelines and roles/responsibilities, including research, development and submission.

Assist with the creation of marketing collateral materials to support the branding of the organization.

Identify, cultivate and secure annual appeals, support from government agencies, foundations, businesses, and individuals.

Expand database of current and potential funders.

Assist with the direction a variety of events related to fundraising, including cocktail parties, Receptions, and site visits.

Assist with the implementation of a strategic communications plan to increase the organizations local and national visibility.

Implement part of the capital campaign. Support work related to the management of content and messaging of the SingleStop website.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Commitment to and passion for the mission and values of Single Stop USA and the challenge of helping SSUSA to grow and achieve maximum impact.

Bachelor’s degree is required; an advance degree from a major college or university is preferred.

Three to five years of fundraising experience in a non-profit sector. Ability to bring vision, imagination and demonstrated experience in identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of philanthropic prospects and donors.

Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a variety of people and personalities: proficient in writing grants and development materials.

Must be extremely organized and detail oriented.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
