Clinical Advisor – Rape Crisis/Anti-Violence Support Center (RC/AVSC) (21 hrs/wk)

Organization: Columbia University – Health Services, Sexual Violence Response

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Clinical Advisor to supervise the Peer Counselor/Advocacy Program, including recruitment of volunteers, selection, training, certification, supervision, retention and development of new and existing volunteers at Department of Health Certified University-based Rape Crisis Center. The Clinical Advisor may also be responsible for providing direct services to victims of rape, sexual assault, relationship violence, child hood sexual abuse and stalking.

Requires doctoral or master's degree in Psychology or Social Work. Minimum 4 years of full-time experience (or part-time equivalent) with direct service provision preferably in counseling or advocacy. Demonstrated knowledge of sexual assault dynamics and effects; support and reporting options for victim/survivors, including emergency department protocol and criminal justice system. Specific experience desired in crisis intervention, advocacy and referrals to survivors of sexual or relationship violence; community education experience, including designing and delivering trainings, outreach strategies, materials development, and/or program evaluation. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong project management and time management skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented. Ability to facilitate large and small group discussions, to promote collaboration, and work within a team model. Proven ability to work in multi-racial enviro nment with commitment to social justice practice.
