The Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF), founded in 1974,
is a national nonprofit organization that protects and promotes the civil rights
of Asian Americans by combining litigation, advocacy, education, and organizing.
Located in New York City, AALDEF has a 21-person staff and is supported by
foundation and corporate grants, individual contributions, and special events.

Job Description:
The Administrative Assistant provides support for fundraising activities. The
Administrative Assistant is responsible for general office duties, including
answering phones, filing, acknowledging and processing donor contributions,
preparing solicitation and newsletter mailings, researching donor prospects, and
helping with special events.
A major portion of the Administrative Assistant’s time is dedicated
to updating and maintaining the donor database. The candidate must
be skilled in using a donor database, preferably DonorPerfect, as well as
experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Applicants must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be able
to coordinate multiple tasks, and manage deadlines in a timely manner. Applicant
should have at least 2 years office experience.
Starting Date: As soon as possible.
Compensation: The salary is commensurate with experience. Excellent
