Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International - Manager, Special Events

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects and components of fundraising events including children's/family event, Young Professional's group and other assigned events in the Distinguished Events department.
  • Manage, evaluate and expand volunteer participation for each event. Must be a team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Must develop, maintain and utilize relationships and have capability to leverage relationships.
  • Manage, evaluate and expand fundraising. Develop and recommend strategies for fundraising events to sustain continued growth. Seek out new corporate and individual sponsors and develop plans to explore new revenue opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and complete financial records, data entry and tax letters for assigned events.
  • Manage timelines and budgets. Ensure that tasks are completed on time and within budget. Manage budget and control expenses effectively with an eye on revenue growth and expense reduction opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

    Strong project management and administrative skills in a multi-task environment. Ability to set priorities, be self-motiviated and take initiative in management of both day-to-day workload and ongoing projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort interacting with Board Members and volunteers both in person, on the phone and electronically.
  • Understanding of computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • An Associate Degree is required. 5+ years of relevant fundraising, strategic planning and coordinating special event experience. Must have supervisory experience and volunteer management experience.
