At Planned Parenthood of Kansas & Mid-Missouri (PPKM) each employee is critical to the achievement of that mission. Today we have a tremendous opportunity for someone committed to this mission to be part of our team as the Chief Financial Officer.

As a part of the Management Team, the CFO is responsible for providing strategic and operational fiscal direction and business planning for 12 health care centers, advocacy, and education functions. Establishes, implements, and monitors finance, information technology, security, and property management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, government funding contracts, SOX, health regulations, and state/federal legislation. Participates in design and execution of 2010 strategic initiatives, annual $8M operational plan, and expansion of facilities and services. Works closely with clinical services and billing departments in development and execution of financially sound business plans around access to and delivery of patient services.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum education and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance and accounting;
  • Ten years' high-level experience in financial management and staff supervision;
  • Three to five years of strategic planning experience.

Preferred education and experience:

  • Master's degree (M. A.) in financial management;
  • Experience managing within a complex, multi-site, multi-streamed revenue organization;
  • Experience developing and executing long range, strategic plans;
  • Experience within healthcare venue a plus;
  • Experience with management of facilities, security, or IT;
  • Experience with government funds and contracts;
  • Experience with technology systems and software conversions;
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Ability to communication with multiple levels of staff, BOD, and management team;
  • Ability to present data and trends to multiple audiences of varying financial acumen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a member of the Management Team; participate in agency-wide strategic and operational planning and overall leadership and management of the agency. Assist Team in maintaining an organizational structure and culture that promotes high levels of communication and performance;
  • Supervise, evaluate, train, and leads the Finance, IT, and Security and Facility functions. Establishes and maintains systems to ensure appropriate internal controls and minimization of risk;
  • Assures accurate and timely financial statements. Works with staff to address significant budget variances. Directs cost/benefit studies and analytic analyses as needed;
  • Prepare the annual plan and budget in accordance with 2010 strategic initiatives;
  • Ensures proper preparation for annual fiscal close and financial audit;
  • Directs technology plan to integrate back-office, business functions including accounting/finance, billing, and point-of-sale systems;
  • Coordinate payroll processing and fringe benefit administration;
  • Manage contract negotiation for all insurance, grants, leases, agreements, etc.;
  • Coordinate acquisition of fixed assets and major capital improvements;
  • Evaluate cash flow, manage investments, and acquire financing when needed;
  • Participate in management, board, and employee meetings. Staffs the board's operations committee;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
