The Tahoe Conservancy, headquartered in South Lake Tahoe, CA, is seeking an Executive Officer. An independent, non-regulatory State agency within the California Resources Agency, the Conservancy was established in 1984 to develop and implement programs to improve water quality in Lake Tahoe; preserve the Lake’s scenic beauty and recreational opportunities; provide public access; and protect the natural environment of California’s side of the Tahoe Basin. Reporting to a seven member Board, the Executive Officer manages 34 staff and a $25 million current year operating budget.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, entreprenuerial, and creative leader who is familiar with conservancy programs and the related public process involved. The successful candidate will be a seasoned public and/or private sector executive with land conservation, planning or environmental, and/or non-profit management experience who will possess the relationship skills, and political astuteness to implement the Board’s vision. A relevant Bachelor’s degree is expected; Master’s degree is preferred.
Annual salary is $93,600-$101,508 DOQ. A comprehensive benefit package is also provided.
