G8 Climate Scorecards 2008
G8 Climate Scorecards 2008
According to the G8 Climate Scorecards 2008 (48 pages, PDF), none of the leading industrialized nations are on target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions enough to avoid the threshold level for unacceptable risk of catastrophic climate change. Funded by WWF and the Allianz Group, the scorecards rank the G8 countries according to their GHG emission trends since 1990, progress against their respective Kyoto targets, and their performance in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and development of carbon markets. Released prior to this year's G8 summit in Japan, the scorecards also contain recommendations for G8 leaders.
