Philanthropy and Voluntarism

Collaboration Among Indiana Nonprofits According to Indiana Nonprofits: Affiliations, Collaborations and Competition (58 pages, PDF), nearly 60 percent of the state's nonprofits network and collaborate, while two out of five compete with others for resources such as funding, staff, volunteers, and board members. While health and education nonprofits are most likely to collaborate, arts, culture, and humanities nonprofits are most likely to indicate they benefit from such involvement. Informal networks are more common than more formal collaborations. The report is the latest in a series based on a survey of 2,200 Indiana nonprofits by Indiana University's Center on Philanthropy and School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
