Philanthropy and Voluntarism

Launched in November, WhatGoesAround.org helps people manage their charitable giving and encourages philanthropy among family, friends, and acquaintances. Registered users can create a givelist of their favorite charitable organizations and send it to people they know, asking them to register on the site as well. When occasions such as birthdays or weddings occur, users can request that friends and relatives make a donation through the site to an organization on their givelist. While WhatGoesAround.org does not make any money from the transaction — the group is funded by foundations, corporations, and individuals — it does charge a 3 percent fee to cover credit card processing costs.
