PND Connections - This Is My Reality - The Price of Sex: An Inside Look at Black Urban Youth Sexuality
According to a report from MEE (Motivational Educational Entertainment) Productions Inc. and the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, urban African-American youth from low-income households need more information and guidance to make better choices about their sexual health. A summary (8 pages, PDF) of the full report, This Is My Reality — The Price of Sex: An Inside Look at Black Urban Youth Sexuality, presents key insights gleaned from forty focus groups; interviews with experts on sexuality, the media, and public health; and a survey of two thousand African-American teens on media consumption and lifestyle topics. In addition, the MEE Web site features video and audio clips from focus group discussions. The project is sponsored by the California Endowment and the Ford Foundation.
