PND Connections - Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Medicare Resources
The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation provides several resources on its Web site to help Americans understand the new Medicare legislation passed by Congress in late November. The Medicare home page links to news updates and background materials on various parts of the legislation, a series of fact sheets, a report on disabled Medicare beneficiaries, and a consumer's guide designed to help seniors and their adult children sort through basic Medicare facts. Other resources include a report that provides a side-by-side comparison of the prescription drug provisions in the new legislation and those found in the House and Senate versions passed in June 2003; a Medicare Drug Benefit Calculator that enables visitors to estimate how much they'll pay for prescription drugs under the new legislation; and a Webcast of a recent discussion on drug reimportation with representatives from the Food and Drug Administration, AARP, and the American Enterprise Institute.
