KNOW HIV/AIDS, a public awareness campaign launched by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and media conglomerate Viacom Inc., is supporting World AIDS Day 2003 (December 1) with special cable TV programming, public service announcements, and online activities. As part of the campaign, Viacom's cable networks will air nearly twenty news updates and specials on HIV/AIDS, including The Courage to Live: Kids, South Africa, and AIDS on Nickelodeon and NYU Filmmakers-KNOW HIV/AIDS, a series of six short films, on the Showtime network. On the Web, the KNOW HIV/AIDS site provides visitors with a tool to locate testing sites, related volunteer opportunities, and additional information about the disease.
