PND Connections - Health of Older Californians: County Data Book

According to a new report from the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, roughly 45 percent of the state's older Latinos and seniors with limited English skills report poor or fair health, compared to 30 percent of all California seniors, because they lack access to healthcare services and face language and cultural barriers. Funded by the California Endowment and the Archstone Foundation, the report, Health of Older Californians: County Data Book (142 pages, PDF), profiles the health status of California's 3.6 million residents who are 65 or older and examines their health behaviors, insurance coverage, and use of preventive care services. To help service providers, policy makers, and advocates identify groups that need additional healthcare assistance, the data is available by region, county, gender, ethnicity, income level, and English proficiency.
