PND Connections - What Makes a Solution?: Lessons and Findings from Solutions for America

Based on an examination of nineteen community projects over a period of two years, the Pew Partnership for Civic Change has identified several factors that contribute to the effectiveness and success of such projects. What Makes a Solution?: Lessons and Findings from Solutions for America (53 pages, PDF), the final report issued by Solutions for America, an initiative of the Partnership, focuses on a range of issues, including homelessness prevention, rural revitalization, access to dental care, job training for women in construction, and infant mortality, and offers several cross-cutting lessons and recommendations. Administered by the University of Richmond and funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Pew Partnership is a research organization that identifies and disseminates promising solutions to tough community issues.
