PND Connections - Grantmakers Information Technology Survey Report

Although foundations have made great strides in their use of technology in recent years, most still do not have a technology plan, nor do they spend much money on their technology systems, according to a report from the Technology Affinity Group and the Council on Foundations. Based on a survey of 315 foundations, the Grantmakers Information Technology Survey Report (99 pages, PDF) found that only 21 percent of foundations have an updated technology plan and more than half had never commissioned a technology audit. Moreover, 65 percent had no technology staff, while 60 percent spent 2 percent or less of their non-program budget on technology. When asked how TAG and the Council could help, survey respondents overwhelmingly requested more information on their peers' use of and experience with technology.
