9/11 Response

As part of its initiative to create the definitive record of philanthropy in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the Foundation Center has published September 11: Perspectives from the Field of Philanthropy, Volume Two (218 pages, PDF). The collection tells the ongoing story of the philanthropic response to 9/11 through interviews with individuals who were and are uniquely positioned to comment on that response. Topics addressed in the volume include the impact of 9/11 on displaced and low-income workers, media coverage of the philanthropic response, the clash of radical Islam and the West, the balance between civil liberties and national security in a post-9/11 world, and steps taken by the sector to prepare for future terrorism-related disasters.
