PND Connections - Transforming Philanthropic Transactions: An Evaluation of the First Five Years at Social Venture Partners

Seattle-based Social Venture Partners, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing social and environmental issues in the King County region of Washington, has released Transforming Philanthropic Transactions (53 pages, PDF), an independent evaluation of the organization's efforts during its first five years to promote philanthropy and build organizational capacity among nonprofits in the region. The evaluation, which was conducted by Blueprint Research & Design and funded by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, offers key observations about the SVP model and approach, tools for measuring progress on an ongoing basis, and detailed recommendations as to how SVP can be even more effective going forward. To learn more about SVP and the SVP model, read our interview with SVP executive director Paul Shoemaker.
