PND Connections - The American Woman 2003-2004: Daughters of a Revolution - Young Women Today
AIDS, shifts in marriage and childbearing rates, policy reforms, and scientific and medical advances have had a profound influence on women's health over the last twenty-five years. The impact of these changes on the health and well-being of women age twenty-five to thirty-five is explored in Baby Boom to Generation X: Progress in Young Women's Health (40 pages, PDF), a report from the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation that was first published as a chapter in the book The American Woman 2003-2004: Daughters of a Revolution Young Women Today. The report outlines the significant gains that have been made in young women's health while highlighting the need for improvement in areas such as depression, obesity, and contraceptive use, as well as the disparities among women of different races, ethnicities, and income levels.
