MDG Report Card: Measuring Progress Across Countries The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the United Nations Millennium Campaign have issued a new report that offers a comprehensive assessment of progress in meeting the Millennium Development Goals. MDG Report Card: Measuring Progress Across Countries (118 pages, PDF) found that in every area, including maternal and child health, a significant number of countries have made real progress in meeting the goals. At the same time, the report found that in some countries material improvements have not always benefited the individuals most in need, especially the poor in rural areas. According to the report, the countries that have made the greatest absolute progress in meeting the goals are Benin, Mali, and Ethiopia, while Ecuador, China, and Thailand have made the greatest "relative progress."
