Evaluation Toolkit
The Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education and the Institute for Higher Education Policy's Pathways to College Network have launched an online tool designed to guide program professionals through the process of conducting small-scale, high-quality evaluations of college access programs serving disadvantaged student populations. The Evaluation Toolkit has an introductory section with basic information for users who may be unfamiliar with the fundamentals of program evaluation; a dozen or so examples of successful evaluations; and resources to help individuals develop a comprehensive plan for their evaluation, identify the data collection methods needed to answer their research questions, work with and analyze the data to determine the effectiveness of their programs and services, and use the findings to improve and/or advocate for the program.
