Health Reform: How Consumers Will Be Affected The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Urban Institute have issued a series of issue briefs that examine how the recently passed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will affect various healthcare consumers, including young adults (5 pages, PDF), children (4 pages, PDF), seniors (6 pages, PDF), and those who get their insurance from individual or small-group carriers (7 pages, PDF). Also included in the series is a brief (5 pages, PDF) that looks at whether health outcomes will improve for individuals and families under the healthcare reform law. According to that brief, all Americans will benefit from a renewed focus on prevention, wellness, and quality, although the group that will see the most significant health improvements will be the thirty million individuals who would otherwise be uninsured.
