Connections - Kauffman Economic Outlook: A Quarterly Survey of Top Economics Bloggers The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has issued the first in a series of reports that examines the views of some two hundred U.S. economics bloggers on entrepreneurship, innovation, and the economy. The report, Kauffman Economic Outlook: A Quarterly Survey of Top Economics Bloggers (20 pages, PDF), found that the majority of economics bloggers expect that interest rates, inflation, and the budget deficit all will be up over the next three years. And while respondents also expect U.S. output and employment to increase, the rate of increase is expected to be about half the rate of growth for global output and employment. The bloggers also rated current economic conditions as bad or very bad for small business (52 percent), bank lending to business (51 percent), and individuals (50 percent), while the outlook for entrepreneurs was seen as a relative bright spot, with opinions about current conditions fairly evenly divided between bad (36 percent) and good (26 percent).
