Programs for Children and Youth in a Community Context
A new report from Child Trends, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research center that studies children at all stages of development, offers advice and recommendations shared by participants in a recent roundtable discussion that explored how evidence-based and -informed programs might be integrated into community initiatives to strengthen outcomes for children. Funded by Atlantic Philanthropies, the report, Programs for Children and Youth in a Community Context (6 pages, PDF), recommends taking both program implementation and sustainability seriously, planning carefully, and ensuring that missions are well-aligned across programs, community initiatives, and education systems.
