GreeNOLA: A Strategy for a Sustainable New Orleans As New Orleans repairs its battered physical and administrative infrastructure, a new report from the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation makes the case for rebuilding the city in a more sustainable way. The report, GreeNOLA: A Strategy for a Sustainable New Orleans (55 pages, PDF), makes recommendations for the "greening" of New Orleans' redevelopment plan, such as reviving environmental programs and policies that were abandoned in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, establishing an Energy Office and expanding the existing Environmental Affairs Office, and developing specific, measurable, and attainable short- and long-term sustainability goals for the city.
