How Nonprofits Helped America Vote: 2008
OMB Watch has issued a new report that examines how nonprofits helped register, inform, mobilize, and protect voters during the 2008 election season. Funded by the Bauman and Surdna foundations, the report, How Nonprofits Helped America Vote: 2008 (24 pages, PDF), spotlights election-related efforts by groups such as the Nonprofit Voter Engagement Network, ACLU, League of Women Voters of Florida, and Brennan Center for Justice to combat stringent voter ID laws and voter suppression efforts and clear up misperceptions about voter fraud. The report also offers a number of election-related recommendations and resources for nonprofits.
