Charity:Water on Google Earth
World Water Day 2009, to be celebrated on March 22, will spotlight the theme of "shared water, shared opportunities." Charity: Water, an organization involved in promoting water safety, has a Google Earth map of its projects and partners in countries such as Uganda, Liberia, Haiti, Honduras, and India. In Liberia, where nearly 40 percent of the population lacks access to safe water, the group has partnered to build fifty wells and support nearly two dozen water-safety projects. The map includes photos from the various sites and links to general information about each region.
