Mobilizing Resources and Giving Out Globally
The Arcus Foundation recently hosted a conference to strategize ways to increase global philanthropic resources in order to advance human rights for LGBT individuals. Mobilizing Resources for the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People: Challenges and Opportunities (48 pages, PDF), one of the reports to come out of the conference, identifies obstacles to increasing LGBT funding among human rights funders and explores the implications of those obstacles. A second report, Giving Out Globally: A Resource Guide of Funding Mechanisms to Support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Rights in the Global South and East (32 pages, PDF), focuses on the growing availability of LGBT funding in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.
