A new Webcast produced by the Open Society Institute's Democracy and Power Fund explores the roots of the current economic downturn and how it is affecting workers in New York City and nationwide. Moderated by DPF director Bill Vandenberg and featuring Mark Winston Griffith, senior fellow at the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy, and Mike Gecan, national staff supervisor for the Industrial Areas Foundation, the discussion touches on steps that should be taken minimize the pain to workers as well as some of the individuals and organizations working to advance a different public policy vision.
